Christopher Kong, Business Development - Cadbury Schweppes PDF Print E-mail

Chris is a Business Development Analyst for the Cadbury Schweppes organisation. Chris has recently completed a double degree in Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws (Hons), at the University of Melbourne. Chris has also attained a Certificate II in Small Business Management.

Chris has had a tremendous amount of experience within young business strategy. He has represented Australia in a number of competitions which include:

Scotiabank International Case Competition
•           Chris represented Australia to win the Scotiabank International 
            Case Competition at Richard Ivey School of Business in Canada.
•           Defeated 11 other countries, advising a Canadian wine company
            of next steps in becoming a major player in the global wine
            industry.

Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE)
•           Chris part of a team who represented Australia at the SIFE World
            Cup 2003 in Germany, becoming the first Australian team ever to
            proceed to the final round of five countries.
•           Chris also led a team of students to work with the North
            Richmond Tenants Association to plan the start-up of a small
            business (café) on their public housing estate.

Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Business Strategy Competition
•           Chris won the National Grand Final of BCG Business Strategy
            Competition.

Accenture Challenge
•           Chris represented Victoria in the Accenture Challenge National
            Final 2002.
 
Young Achievement Australia (YAA)
•           Chris was a finalist in YAA Tertiary Business Person of the Year
            Awards.

Chris also has demonstrated networking and leadership skills with small businesses in various industry sectors. These include:

Bridges to Asia Dinner
           Chris Co-hosted the Bridges to Asia dinner to promote
            interaction between various commercial and legal
            employers and students, attended by 200 guests.

Financial Management Association of Australia (FMAA)
           Chris has liaised with corporate firms to publish the Who’s Who
            of the Corporate World and Annual Journal for FMAA student 
            members.

Mindshop Excellence Program
           Chris helped formulated strategies for a company (that coached
            other small businesses) on how to grow and expand its
            presence.

Australasian Model United Nations Conference
           Chris represented Norway on the Security Council at the
            Australasian Model United Nations Conference.

Centenary of Federation Youth Convention
•         
  Chris held discussions with fellow delegates in the Centenary of
            Federation Youth Convention to produce a report concerning
            youth issues for politicians.

Stonnington News Sheet
           Chris has joined the Stonnington New Sheet’s Youth Editorial
            Group. He publishes monthly articles that address policy issues
            affecting young people, including those that affect small
            businesses.
