Louisa Wood - 26, Duncraig, WA PDF Print E-mail

June 2006
Business Name:
Get Positive Productions

Louisa Wood is one of Western Australia’s most successful young entrepreneurs – as the founder of Get Positive Productions and the brains behind the successful product MyDiary.

Louisa created MyDiary in her final year of high school, recognising a niche market and turning a daggy, plain diary into a life source of information for students on how to get their drivers licence, study effectively, control stress and pass exams.

From humble beginnings to managing her own company at 25, Louisa loves to encourage other young people to develop their potential.

A two-time award winner in the national NESCAFÉ BIG BREAK competition and featuring on the front cover of the 2006 Business/Government PERTH White Pages, Louisa has been recognised as one of WA’s leading young business women.

How Louisa became a successful entrpreneur:
Before I turned 18 I had already run 5 businesses including: selling exotic hair scrunchies at age 11, before going onto create a unique Freddo Franchise system that got me banned in high school because I was making more money than the school principal! Sacrificing my ticket to the school ball to buy extra stamps, I focused on developing products that made a difference. In year 12, I came up with the idea of MyDiary when I realised that the current school diary was dull, boring and unimaginative. In between my University studies I worked two part-time jobs. It took me two years to develop my product, MyDiary.

MyDiary is a student diary that is personalised to each school with their student artwork and school policies. It also contains over 50 information pages that teaches students to be savvy with their time & money. Samples are available on my website: www.getpositive.com.au.

With over a quarter of a million diary sales behind her, Louisa regularly gives keynote presentations to schools and business forums across Australia. Louisa is an experienced commentator on:
